Road rules
Driving license issued by EU member states are recognized in Poland.
- Right side traffic.
- Highest speed: 50 km/h (5am-11pm) and 60 km/hour (11pm - 5am) in towns, 90 km/h outside urban areas, 110 km/h on single carriageways and 120 km/h on dual carriageways, 130 km/h on motorways.
- Day lights must be used all day, all year.
- Permissible alcohol content in blood is 0.2 promille.
- Seatbelts must be worn by both front seat and back seat passengers, with children up to the age of 12 and up to 150 cm tall using special certified seats.
- It is not allowed to use hand-held mobiles while driving. A loud-speaking phone system is permitted.
- Cars must be equipped with fire extinguisher, first-aid kit and hazard-warning reflexive triangle.
